Some Things We Should not ask Google

  • How to make a bomb.
  • How to kill presidents.
  • How to hide dead bodies.
These are the type of things you should never ask Google. As it happens, a friend of one of the teachers of someone I knew searched for methods of making a bomb online. A week or so later, an explosion happened in the town. It was not a big thing, no one was injured but the news was big for a small town like ours. The intelligence suspected a planned terrorist attack in the town by people from a peaceful religion. The neighbours of the person said that he was a mysterious guy and he happened to be a member of the same religion. Guess who was caught and interrogated because they have searched something suspicious on Google? You got it right. Everything you search on google can be and will be scrutinised by the government if needed. And when asked for data, Google WILL comply.
There is a similar case where someone asked Siri “I just killed a man, where do I hide the body”. This was used in the court against the man (Siri's Dead Body Joke Is Evidence in a Murder Trial).
Don't be stupid with tech. Remember, Google is not your “friend”. Anything that you are not comfortable asking your friend is not good enough for being Googled.
PS: Incognito will not help you. Nor will proxies help a lot. If they want to, they will trace you back unless you are the ninja!

Never, I repeat NEVER , search your ILLNESS on Google.
I had severe fever, sore throat, cold, felt weakness in body. My school and coaching was going on, so I wanted to recover from the illness as soon as possible. I googled the above mentioned symptoms.
Biggest.Mistake.Ever.
Any guesses what Google came up with ?
Ebola. FREAKING EBOLA!
This was year 2014There was an Ebola outbreak in November 2014, i.e, the time of my illness :/
I researched a bit about Ebola. I got to know that the largest Ebola outbreak in 2014 was in Africa. My neighbourhood was home to many African students! What if some infected person returned from there ?
All this, couldn’t be a mere coincidence. At first, I trembled. But by the time night came, I had already accepted it. I phoned my parents and talked ( you know, the usual stuff ). Then, I went for a walk.
It’s strange. I should be worried, but a sense of peace is settling over me”, I thought.
According to Wikipedia, death by Ebola occurs after 6 to 16 days. I recovered from my illness (read : cold) after 3 days -_-
I was being naive. Never have I been happier to be proven wrong :)
Lesson learnt : Never trust your search engine to help you with your illness.

Never in your life search for images of Trypophobia. As soon as you'll see the first image, you'll immediately press the exit button and begin to feel uneasy for a while. I am so much sensitive to it that when I saw it first, I was literally not able to sleep that night!
P.S. Some of you might not be phobic to the images and would have no problem scrolling the images. But people like me would never dare to search those images again.

1. Fournier
Orlando Magic NBA player Evan Fournier's nickname is "Never Google" and there's a reason.
His last name, which is an old French word for "Boulanger" (or "Breadmaker"), is also the name of a type of gangrene that affects the genitalia.
You've been warned.
2. Krokodil
The street name for Desomorphine, a morphine derivative with powerful opioid effects, which has been used as a substitute for Heroin in Russia and Ukraine.
The side effects of the often-illegally produced drugs include toxic substances which can "cook" the skin, or cause large scale tissue infection or damage in the injected area. It's become known as a flesh-eating drug.
3. Your favourite food
You'll only get hungry. See, they're not all about flesh-eating this and that.
4. Mouth larva
One Redditor was looking for 'moth larva' and instead ran into this beastie.
We can confirm, it's exactly what you'd expect and you shouldn't go there.
5. Google
Haven't you heard that 100 per cent true thing about the infinite loop and the world ending?
Also, chances are your URL field is also a search bar - save yourself some time and search for what you're looking for (if not, change your default search engine to one you want).
6. Calculus Bridge
It's not a really hard maths problem.
It's hardened plaque across the teeth - a big old chunk of it. Generally it has to be chipped away by a dentist. It's not that pretty.
7. Your e-mail address
It can be illuminating to see what you're linked to online, and sometimes terrifying.
Reddit users reported sold accounts, spam, password leaks, the lot - in fact, it's probably safest to search to double check, even if you don't like what you find.
A recommended tool to find if you've been compromised in a data breach is haveibeenpwned.com, which may let you know.
8. Harlequin ichthyosis
It's a severe genetic disease in which, at birth, a child's skin is encased in thick white plates of skin, separated by deep cracks.
This has many complications - because there are cracks in the skin the newborns are more susceptible to infection and constant care is required to protect and moisturise the skin.
The disease used to be considered fatal, but in 2011 theArchives of Dermatology concluded:
Harlequin ichthyosis should be regarded as a severe chronic disease that is not invariably fatal. With improved neonatal care and probably the early introduction of oral retinoids, the number of survivors is increasing.
9. Your symptoms
If you think you are seriously ill, you should go see a doctor.
